पंजाब में बाढ़ के चलते पंजाब सरकार ने स्कूलों में छुट्टियां बढ़ा दी हैं। अब पंजाब के सभी स्कूल 16 जुलाई तक बंद रहेंगे। कई इलाकों का पानी अभी भी भरा हुआ है, इसी कारण बच्चों की सुरक्षा के चलते पंजाब के सभी स्कूलों में छुट्टियां आगे बढ़ा दी गई हैं। पंजाब सरकार ने इससे पहले 13 जुलाई तक छुट्टियां घोषित की थी।
इस संबंध में शिक्षा मंत्री हरजोत बैंस ने ट्वीट कर लिखा कि, मुख्यमंत्री पंजाब भगवंत मान जी के निर्देशानुसार, बारिश के कारण सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से,पंजाब सरकार ने राज्य के सभी सरकारी/सहायता प्राप्त/मान्यता प्राप्त और निजी स्कूलों में छुट्टियां 16 जुलाई 2023 तक बढ़ा दी हैं।
